My name is Thiago Novato, and for over 20 years I've been building software. I started in 2005 as an intern developing systems in PHP and MySQL. From there, I went through industrial automation, technical leadership, and now work in data engineering for the wine industry.
The Journey
My journey went through diverse contexts: government internships, industrial automation programming PLCs and Ladder, teaching at technical institutes, and then diving into full-stack web development. I worked as Tech Lead coordinating teams and architecture, and built systems that processed over 1 million test results. In parallel, I created Logus Academy, a transcription platform with 700+ users and 10,000+ hours transcribed.
Today
Currently, I work as a Software Engineer building data pipelines with Python, Airflow, dbt, and BigQuery for the wine industry. I integrate e-commerce platforms and develop dashboards in React. Previously, I worked on API integrations and advanced technical support for email marketing platforms.
Why This Blog
After two decades of experiences, mistakes, and learnings, I decided it was time to share. Not shallow tutorials or generic lists — but real reflections on building software for 20 years, navigating an international career, and staying in continuous learning mode.
If you're a developer, software engineer, or someone who uses technology to build things that matter — this space is for you.
